EDGC announced on July 2 that the company signed a business agreement with Sookmyung Women’s University University on June 28 for business and academic cooperation on research and for fostering professionals.

This agreement includes ▲development of customized nutrition and diet based on genome information ▲advancement and operation of programs for training specialists such as genetic counselors ▲establishment of genetics-related classes and internship programs ▲publication of joint research paper and commercialization.

Through this MOU, both sides plan to actively cooperate to assist genetics-related industries and professionals. EDGC aims to contribute to settle the shortage of manpower in domestic genetics industry and to support overseas internships using the company’s global networks, while Sookmyung Women’s University plans to operate professional educational programs for both students and non-students who wish to advance into related fields.

EDGC co-CEO Lee Min-seob said, “It is a great opportunity to build up genetics experts training system by maximizing capabilities of Sookmyung Women’s University’s academic and research and of EDGC’s genome analysis infrastructure and know-how. EDGC will continue to actively cooperate with academic community to foster next-generation genetics professionals who will lead the global genetics industries and to promote development of related markets.”
