EDGC will be partnering up with Gangnam Major Hospital(formerly Gangnam MizMedi Hospital), Chunlanb, microbiome big data platform and B Link Healthcare for 10,000 people genome project to predict genome-caused diseases.

At the signing ceremony held at Gangnam Major Hospital on 9th, researchers, including EDGC, CEOs of Gangnam Major, Chunlab, and B Link Healthcare exchanged various opinions on gene-based forecasting and microbiome research on diseases such as dementia, cardiovascular disease, and major cancers. The companies agreed to cooperate on the establishment of a national health promotion model through genetic and microbiome tests.

EDGC will be responsible for establishing database and genome analysis. Through this project, participating organizations will construct database from national check-up results, genome and microbiome data for the first time in Korea, and discover disease prediction to build health promotion models based on the accumulated data. The goal of this project is to apply for a special case of regulatory sandboxes and create a new health examination service.

Dr. Lee Min-seob, co-president of EDGC said “There have been many restrcitions on using state-run researches in the industry, but we will build solid academic basis in the field of genome and provide better service in the future.”

“The development of customized treatments and establishment of a precision medical system are currently a hot topic in the medical field around the world. It needs strong cooperation with specialized companies in various fields for the detailed analysis of genomic and clinical data.” added by EDGC and Chunlab that they have further agreed to pursue various projects as joint research.
