EDGC announced on June 8 that the company has selected as Global Small and Medium-Sized Company of 2020 organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Global Small and Medium-Sized Companies were selected through strict criteria by three stages of evaluation including application review, on-site screening (global capacity assessment) and presentation (corporate competency and growth potential). Over the next four years, selected company will be intensively supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Behind the selection of global hidden champion owes to EDGC's world-leading Cell-free DNA technology. Cell-free DNA technology was applied to both non-invasive prenatal testing chosen as the Next-Generation World-Class Product of Korea in 2019 and liquid biopsy led by GRAIL, Inc. from U.S. and EDGC in Asia. More than 50% of R&D investment and the competitiveness, tech-transfer of commercial services, and global export performance to the United States, Europe, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong were greatly reflected.
