March 25, 2022 - Eone Diagnomics Genome Center Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as EDGC), a global genome company, has obtained information security management system international standards (hereinafter referred to as ISO 27001) and medical care from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in the field of genome services, such as 'OncoCatch', a liquid biopsy for early cancer diagnosis. Also, the company gladly announced on December 29, 2021, that it has acquired the international standard for personal information protection systems (hereinafter referred to as ISO 27799) at the same time.

ISO 27001 certification, which boasts the highest standard in the field of information protection, can only be obtained by companies that have undergone rigorous screening in 14 management areas and 114 detailed items related to information protection. On the other hand, ISO 27799, a medical information protection management system certification focused on precision medicine, can only be obtained by companies legally and safely managing the most sensitive personal medical data, such as medical treatment, prescription records, and examination results.

EDGC, Korea’s No. 1 company specializing in providing topnotch services to hospitals and clinics, has built artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, such as deep learning and machine learning to help them analyze genomic big data right from the onset of the business as they deal with sensitive medical consumer or customer data, ensuring the security of customer data. Efforts have been made to ensure integrity and transparency in their services. To dominate the overseas market, it is ranked first in Southeast Asian markets such as Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong by acquiring CAP (College of American Pathologists) certification and technology transfer.

In Korea, companies such as KT, NHN, and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital that have been certified to both international standards are the only genome company to have been certified simultaneously with EDGC. With this EDGC is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with large domestic and foreign companies and institutions in the information protection sector.

EDGC’s R&D chief (CTO) Sunghoon Lee said, “In the genomic service field, clinical data analysis, utilization, and management capabilities are key. In terms of protection, the reliability of the world-class medical information protection management system has been verified once again.”

EDGC is leading the personalized precision medical industry for early cancer diagnosis and disease prevention, such as liquid biopsy, based on advanced genomic big data analysis technology (BI) and artificial intelligence (AI). By building it, it is now possible to provide more secure and reliable genomic services such as a liquid biopsy to individual customers, hospitals and institutions, and various partners.
